Interpersonal psychotherapy

IPT assumes that symptoms, especially low mood and depression, are connected to what's happening in your relationships and your life: a loss, a conflict, a role change or loneliness.

What it is

IPT assumes that symptoms, especially low mood and depression, are connected to what's happening in your relationships and your life: a loss, a conflict, a role change or loneliness.

Together we map out which theme is most connected to your symptoms and work on it specifically. You learn to recognise, name and discuss your feelings with the people around you.

What you can expect
  • Strongly proven for depression
  • Focus on loss, conflict, role change or loneliness
  • Short-term and clearly defined
Usually 12 to 16 sessions

Our approach

Always applied with an eye for your context

What is helpful differs from one world to another. At AndersGGZ we apply every treatment in a culturally sensitive way, with attention to your language, cultural values and the people around you. We don't impose our interpretation, but explore together what is right for you.
