Cognitive behavioural therapy

Cognitive behavioural therapy is one of the best-researched forms of psychotherapy. It is based on the connection between thoughts, feelings and behaviour: how you think about a situation colours how you feel and what you do.

What it is

Cognitive behavioural therapy is one of the best-researched forms of psychotherapy. It is based on the connection between thoughts, feelings and behaviour: how you think about a situation colours how you feel and what you do.

In CBT you explore which thoughts and habits keep your symptoms going, and you practise step by step with more helpful thoughts and new behaviour, first in the session, then in your daily life.

What you can expect
  • Practical, goal-oriented and short-term
  • Works on symptoms and on skills
  • Often exercises between sessions
Usually 8 to 20 sessions
Our approach

Always applied with an eye for your context

What is helpful differs from one world to another. At AndersGGZ we apply every treatment in a culturally sensitive way, with attention to your language, cultural values and the people around you. We don't impose our interpretation, but explore together what is right for you.
