Systematic desensitisation

Systematic desensitisation is a mild, structured form of exposure. Together you draw up an 'anxiety hierarchy': from slightly tense to very tense.

What it is

Systematic desensitisation is a mild, structured form of exposure. Together you draw up an 'anxiety hierarchy': from slightly tense to very tense.

Then, paired with relaxation techniques, you gradually expose yourself to increasingly tense steps. This way your body relaxes where it used to tense up.

What you can expect
  • Calm, step-by-step build-up
  • Combined with relaxation
  • Suitable for phobias and specific fears
