Screening: are we a fit for your question?
After your application we first carefully check whether AndersGGZ is the right place for you. That is called the screening. It is a short but important step: this way we prevent you from waiting unnecessarily long for care that might fit better elsewhere, and ensure you are in the right place from the start.
- Assessment by an experienced lead practitioner
- We look at your care need, referral and context
- A clear indication
- Targeted advice if we turn out not to be a fit
- News about the next step as soon as we can schedule you
What exactly is the screening?
The screening is the first substantive assessment of your application. We look at whether your care need matches what AndersGGZ offers: specialist, culturally sensitive mental health care for adults and young adults.
You do not have to do or figure out anything yourself for this. We get to work with the information from your application and your referral.
Who assesses my application?
A lead practitioner reviews your application. That is an experienced professional, such as a healthcare psychologist, nurse specialist or psychiatrist, who is authorised to lead a treatment process.
In case of doubt or with more complex questions, the lead practitioner consults within the multidisciplinary team, so that the assessment is always careful.
What do we look at?
We use so-called intake decision trees: a structured way to determine whether your question fits us. In doing so we look at your care need, the information in the referral and, if you indicated it, your preferred language and cultural context.
This way we ensure that you not only get the right treatment, but also a practitioner who connects with your world.
What if you are not the right place?
If your question does not match what we offer, we do not simply let you go. We refer you back in a targeted way, preferably with suitable advice about where you can go instead. Honesty about this is part of how we work.
How long does it take, and what then?
After your application you receive an immediate confirmation. We contact you as soon as we can schedule you for an intake; that depends on the current waiting time.
If our care fits, we schedule the intake. You then receive an appointment letter with date, time and a login code for our secure environment.
